Walter N. Yoder & Sons,
Inc. has grown steadily through the years to become the largest mechanical
contractor in the region, and one of the oldest contractors as well.
The company has an average annual business volume of over $20 million.
Walter N. Yoder & Sons, Inc. is licensed and has completed projects
in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Florida,
Michigan, New Jersey, Kentucky, New York and South Dakota. As a full
service contractor, the firm is equipped with excavators, backhoes,
dozers, trenchers, cranes, dump trucks and tractor-trailers, along
with other smaller support equipment.
With a workforce of engineers, estimators, draftsmen, Cad operator,
pipe fitters, sheet metal workers, laborers, ironworkers, operators,
millwrights, teamsters, carpenters, boilermakers and administrative
staff, Walter N. Yoder & Sons, Inc. self-performs 95 percent of
all our work. We employ between 150 to 200 people, with an all-time
high of 1,000 for a short period in 1990.
Our Company is headquartered in Cumberland, Maryland, near Pinto,
with permanent field offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia
and West
Virginia. The Cumberland location has a complete metal and pipe
fabrication shop that typically performs construction projects
of $2 to $5 million,
including work for many local industries including NewPage Corp.,
MeadWestvaco Corp., CSXTransportation, Western Maryland Health
System, AES and Alliant
Techsystems (ABL), as well as most regional municipalities.
For over 80 years, Walter N. Yoder & Sons, Inc. has been committed
